THE EZRA IS A FORCE of human nature, and a right cool guy. He had the pleasure of meeting Binks and Geezer Scott yesterday in Halifax. Interestingly, the panels were fairly balanced, though there was rather a lot of “I’m here near Ezra, but not WITH him, OK?” from the more liberal members of the panels. Like, Ewww! Neo-con extremist cooties! How very high schoolish. Sadly, a most of the audience (especially a lot of the students there) didn’t seem to get the ideological biohazard containment message, and clustered around Ezra at lunch and after the Forum had wrapped up. The essential matter was how much Ezra represents the future of media, versus the more staid ‘establishment’, who say ‘blogger’ with the same tone usually reserved for ‘explosive diarrhoea’, yet wonder why the old media market-share keeps evaporating, and the gate-keepers of wisdom have diminishing influence in society, except amongst the acolytes.
