A Ministry of Justice spokesman said: “Many myths have grown up around the Human Rights Act: that it favours criminals, that it gives criminals the right to privacy, prisoners the right to obtain pornography, and roof-top protesters the right to a police-provided KFC.
“This is all simply not true. There is nothing in the Human Rights Act that could enable any of these things to happen or that would prevent the prosecution of those who are a danger to the public.
