The Books About TV Reading Challenge

I'm participating in another of my own challenges. If you haven't checked out The Books About TV Reading Challenge you're missing out!

The aim is to read books ABOUT television whether it's nonfiction about it or fictional tales using the characters from TV.

The goal is at least 2 books.

I've read:
  1. LOST's Buried Treasures 3rd Edition by Lynnette Porter & David Lavery (review coming soon)

Man's Best Friend Reading Challenge

DelGal's Book Reviews is hosting the Man's Best Friend Reading Challenge.

She says:
From Jan. to Dec. of 2010 participants will read any type of book, from adult to children, long or short, fiction, nonfiction or even memoir. The only requirement is that it must be about dogs of course. Feel free to post your list below in the comment section, or post a link below to your blog where the list will be posted.

So it doesn't look like there is a certain number. So I'll keep track of dog books I read here.

Truth is Stranger Than Fiction Challenge 2010

Caitlin from Chaotic Compendiums is hosting the Truth is Stranger than Fiction Challenge

It's all about reading nonfiction which I do normally so this should be easy for me.

1. Your Name Here: Guide to Life by Michael Rosenbaum
2. The N.D.D. Book by Dr. William Sears

5. Temperament Tools by Helen Neville and Diane Clark Johnson
6. Till Sex Do Us Part by Dr. Trina Read
7. Nasty, Brutish and Short by Pat Senson
8. Oral Sex is the New Goodnight Kiss by Sharlene Azam

*I'm only counting the first 8 nonfiction I read for this challenge.

So in light of my personal goal to read more YA fiction books I thought it made sense to join the YA Reading Challenge. I did this one in 2008 but skipped 2009.  Thanks to Christa @ Mental Foodie for the idea.

I'll be doing: --The Mini YA Reading Challenge – Read 12 Young Adult novels.

Exact novels are To Be Determined but I'll be choosing from my post linked above for some of them at least.

Books Won Reading Challenge 2010

Teddy Rose is hosting the Books Won Reading Challenge to help us read those books we won in giveaways. I stopped entering most giveaways because I haven't read any of the ones I've won. It's not that I didn't really want them and just took them away from others, it's more like now that I own it I don't have to rush to read it so it keeps getting bumped by other books. I even have a book I won at Teddy Rose's blog!

This is an all year challenge (Jan-Dec) and I am doing the Honourable Mention level meaning I must read 1-3 books.

Some of what I may read:

Acedia & Me by Kathleen Norris (Won at My Friend Amy)

Lost & Found by Carolyn Parkhurst (Won at So Many Books, So Little Time)
In Tongues of the Dead by Brad Kelln (Won at The Book Mine Set)
Walking Through Walls by Philip Smith (Won at Musings of a Bookish Kitty)
The Blue Notebook by James A. Levine (Won at Printed Page)
Do Over! by Robin Hemley and The Nine Lessons by Kevin Alan Milne (Won at Book Dads)

Memorable Memoir Reading Challenge 2010

Read at least four Memoirs from January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010.

I love memoirs and read them all the time. In fact I have a few on my TBR pile so this shouldn't be a problem.

More rules and join up here: The Betty and Book Chronicles.

1. I am Nujood: Age 10 and Divorced by Nujood Ali with Delphine Minoui
2.

2010 100+ Reading Challenge

J. Kaye of J. Kaye's Book Blog is hosting the 100+ Reading Challenge again.

Reading 100 books is NOT a problem for me so I figure why not do it again.

I'll link to my book reviews after I read them.

Cybils Awards Challenge 2010

Michelle from GalleySmith is holding the Cybils Award Challenge in 2010. As much as I'd love to read all the books from one nominee category and be entered for the prize, I can't commit to that much.

So I'll be reading at least 1/4 of the Nonfiction Picture books. It all depends on what's available at my library or what I already have. I will list the books I've read as I read them.

Change in How I Do Challenges

When I started January 2009 I was signing up for so many challenges it was crowding my blog out so I started a separate blog for my challenges. Then I went through a few times where I lost interest in reading or blogging for a short while plus I'm so behind in review books I haven't been able to read books that fit most of the challenges I signed up for. So of the 35+ challenges I signed up for I'll finish perhaps 1-3 this year.

So for the rest of 2009 and all of 2010 I plan on only signing up for a few challenges, ones I can for sure do. As such I'll be putting them on this blog again as it's easier to keep track.

Any challenge I have or will finish by Dec. 31 or any that I did finish on time will be posted about here and the other blog will be deleted. Any future challenges will be posted here and you can expect a few posts about that in the next few months.

Book Bloggers/Challenge Takers... How do you keep track of challenges? Main blog, other blog, just on paper.....
